Individual and Group Psychotherapy
Many of life's problems and traumas are difficult not just in and of themselves, but because they are isolating, leaving you with the feeling that no one understands or that no one sees your struggles.
As a therapist, I think the relationship comes first. The work we do together requires warmth, comfort, trust and "goodness of fit" between us. I believe the relationship is both the safe and warm point of departure for your exploration and the soft landing place.
Process psychotherapy groups offer a safe and supportive means of learning about yourself and how you function in relationships. You can heal with the support of others and develop new skills together. I am currently running an online Process Group for Adult Adoptees Tuesday evenings 7-830pm.
I also offer periodic workshops and psychoeducation groups for prospective adoptive parents.
I am experienced with working with most of life's most common problems --- depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, loneliness --- and I do have some particular specialties.
I have significant experience and training in working with adoption and I routinely work with all members of the adoption triad: adoptees, birth/first parents and adoptive parents.
I have advanced training in working with trauma and dissociation, and will be offering EMDR soon.
